Glass Facial

Otherwise known as the “injectable facial”, the glass facial utilises meso-stamping and micro-channelling technology to infuse a cocktail of vitamins, serums, peptides, botulinum toxins and hyaluronic acids into the dermis of the skin.

The facial gives the benefits of micro needling by using a meso-device to create a controlled wound that triggers the body’s own healing cascade to produce collagen. The muscle relaxant that is infused through these microchannels, acts as a pore reducer, whilst the hyaluronic acid provides deep moisture from within. Added peptides, serums and vitamins amplify these benefits and act together to even skin tone and improve elasticity, leaving the skin smoother, plumper and glowing whilst also tightening and improving crepiness of the skin. It is the perfect option for those wanting glowing skin before a big event.

Potential benefits include:

  • Promotes a clearer, more luminous skin tone, often described as a “glass skin” glow.

  • Leaves skin feeling silky and polished, ideal for special events or photos.

  • Can be tailored with different active ingredients to suit individual skin needs.

  • Infuses the skin with micro-droplets of hydrating ingredients for a dewy, refreshed look.

  • Helps minimise the appearance of enlarged pores for a smoother complexion.

  • Targets early signs of ageing by improving skin texture and suppleness.

FAQ’s

  • Welcome! It is not necessary to book a separate consultation in addition to treatment time. Each appointment is flexible and includes ample consultation time. Of course, if you are unsure and would like some time to think your options over before proceeding, you are more than welcome to book in for a no obligation consultation.

  • A thorough consultation is conducted prior to treatment. If the treatment is deemed suitable, the skin is then cleansed and numbing cream applied per request. The ingredients of the glass facial are then meso-injected or stamped into the dermis. Whilst 30-60 minutes is allocated for your treatment, the actual microneedling component typically only takes a few minutes and feels like scratchy vibrations on your skin. Your treatment can be boosted or upgraded with an array of add-ons. Please see the costs tab for options.

  • Clients will see an improvement after each treatment, however a series of at least 4-6 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart is recommended for best results. After your initial course of treatments, repeat treatments are recommended every 6-12 months to maintain and enhance results.

  • Skin in the treated area is typically red and mildly swollen with a tight, sunburn like sensation felt immediately post treatment. This generally resolves within 12-48 hours. In the days following treatment, clients may also experience slight peeling or flaking of the skin as it begins to shed and regenerate. Very rarely, bruising may occur and can take 7-14 days to fully resolve. For a few days post treatment, the skin will be more sensitive to the sun and certain skin care products. For this reason, it is important to wear SPF and avoid any active or harsh skin care ingredients or direct sunlight. Strict aftercares should be followed for best results.

  • The ingredients infused within the glass facial have been safely used for many years. As with any medical procedures, this treatment may present rare, but possible side-effects. These are discussed in detail during consultation and include the possibility of sensitivity, allergic reaction, vascular occlusion and infection.

    • It is preferable you attend your appointment make-up free. If this is not possible, makeup in the targeted areas will be removed by our practitioners prior to treatment.

    • If you wish to minimise your chances of bruising, it is also recommended that, where medically suitable, you avoid blood thinning medications and vitamins for 1-2 weeks prior. You should also avoid alcohol and caffeine in the preceding 24 hours and not partake in any heat inducing activities, such as heavy workouts, the day of treatment.

    • It is essential that sun exposure, fake tanning, hair removal and active ingredients (such as retinoids, AHAs, BHAs, benzoyl peroxide etc) are avoided in the treatment area for 7 days prior.

    • Ideally, skin should also be prepped using our customised skin care. This is particularly important for clients with olive or darker skin tones, whom we recommend use a tyrosinase-inhibiting serum for at least two weeks prior to treatment to help prepare the skin for the best possible results and avoid the risk of any post inflammatory hyper pigmentation occurring.

    • Avoid any heat-inducing activities for 24-48 hours post treatment. These include intense exercise, steam rooms, saunas, spas.

    • Avoid make up or touching your face for 24-48 hours post treatment.

    • Avoid blood thinning medications, vitamins and food for 24-48 hours post treatment.

    • Avoid active skin care ingredients or direct sunlight for 3-7 days.

    • Avoid tattooing, lasers, waxing or invasive facials for 2-4 weeks post treatment.

  • The injectable facial is not recommended for individuals with cystic acne, open wounds, infections, psoriasis, or dermatitis in the treatment area. It is also contraindicated for anyone under 18, those with uncontrolled diabetes, as well as pregnant or breastfeeding women. Additionally, those prone to keloid scarring or abnormal wound healing should avoid this procedure. This list is not exhaustive, and it is the patient’s obligation to inform the practitioner of all medical issues and medications.
